Aipaku 2018 - Ice Cream World Expo at Ginza Mizukoshi

It's soon going to be summer in Japan!
Although I'm not really looking forward to the summer season, the Japanese people are generally excited about it. As of now, the temperature in Tokyo is not as extreme as in Malaysia. We still get around 16°C ~ 17°C here sometimes at night.

On the first day of Golden Week in Japan, me and two of my housemates from Hong Kong went to the Ice-Cream Expo 'Aipaku Tokyo 2018' at Ginza Mitsukoshi.

The expo gathered more than 100 kinds of nationwide local and special limited ice-creams. It's definitely a must-go event for ice-cream lovers.

There were so many of the ice-creams that we wanted to try! We even thought of "tapau" a few back to enjoy it over a movie. But sadly, even though the ice-creams are nice but we can't fit everything into one stomach :'(

After looking at the event flyers, we decide to go for the Nagasaki Kasutera Raw Soft-Served Ice Cream from New York Do, an ice cream that will make you drool just by looking at its image.
Due to its popularity, the queue was crazy long when we were there. However, a big salute to the Japanese queuing system, we only waited around 10 minutes in the queue.

This is what we called, a taste of heaven! Definitely worth every penny spent.
After finishing our first ice-cream, we went hunting for another one...

and we just can't say no to this beauty~!

Kikyoya Shingen Soft-Served Ice Cream is the expo's all-time favorite. It won the gold medal of Aipaku Award 2016 and has fans from around the country. Featuring the authentic 'Made in Japan' matcha soft-served ice cream which is also complementary to its 'Shingen mochi', topped with generous amount of flavorful soybean powder and rich black sugar for the perfect indulgence.

After our second ice cream of the day, we were really full and our wallets are "bleeding" (the sad part about living in Tokyo especially if you are a poor cheapo like me). Hence, we went back to Ikebukuro for girl's all-time favorite activity in Japan, Purikura aka photo booth!

Cinnamoroll Cafe in Marui Annex Shinjuku review

Since me and my boyfriend did not get to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day together, we made a deal to re-celebrate it in Japan. Among so many cafe choices that we have, we decided to go to the Cinnamoroll Cafe at Shinjuku Marui Annex. Mainly because:

- We never tried or experienced any character collaboration cafe in Japan before.
- My boyfriend is a big fan of Cinnamoroll, a popular mascot/character by Sanrio Japan.
- Whereas for me, not exactly a big fan but I enjoy anything as long as it is cute.

This photo was taken from our last Japan trip. Look how happy he is for winning both of the Cinnamoroll plushies from the UFO Catcher for only 500 yen. BEST DEAL EVAR!

New from the GazettE 「Ninth」

Orz

Lee Chong Wei - Rise of the Legend - World Premiere review

I am sure everyone from Malaysia knows Datuk Lee Chong Wei - a professional badminton player and a national hero. For those who do not know, the Wikipedia page is right HERE.

Even though I am not a big fan of sports or badminton, but the two most important men in my life, my dad, and my boyfriend are both regular badminton player and a huge fan of Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

When the official news for Lee Chong Wei's biopic was announced, my dad was really excited about it and even told me that he wanted to watch the World Premiere at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur (now I know where I got my fangirl DNA from). Additionally, this ‘Lee Chong Wei: Rise of the Legend’ was a 133-minute extended version, which is exclusively for World Premiere only.

However, the World Premiere ticket is a bit too expensive if all 6 of our family members were to go.

Just when my dad was about to give up and stick back to the original plan of watching the movie on regular cinema, I received a text from my boyfriend that one of his friend is offering us a few complimentary tickets to the World Premiere. My dad rejoices and even make sure that he had no other appointments on that day just so he can go watch his favorite sportsmen on big screen.

First purikura with family

It has been so long since the last time I went for 'Purikura'. I was once really obsessed with purikura, especially during my young age (okay why do I have to sound like I am super old already lol).

KL used to have a lot of purikura machines back in the old days, but it is getting lesser now as the trend faded. Some purikura machine can still be found inside the amusement arcade or Molly Fantasy in few of the Aeon outlets.

I usually went for purikura with my friends or boyfriend. One day I just realized that I never did a purikura before with my family. So during this CNY while we were enjoying Mid Valley shopping mall with a lesser crowd (since most of the people were back in their hometown or traveled overseas), I brought my family to take purikura for the very first time!

The machine was located inside the Aeon outlet in Mid Valley shopping mall. Unfortunately, I did not took any photos of the machine, sorry :(. If you are interested to look for the machine that I used, you may look for 'Molly Fantasy' at the first floor of Aeon outlets in Mid Valley.

Chinese New Year Lolita Brunch at Shang Palace

Ever since I became jobless, I can finally have more time for myself! (well, obviously) More times for dressing up, meeting friends, attending tea parties as well as to do other stuff. When I first saw the announcement of CNY Lolita Brunch in MLC page, I'm not sure whether if I should go because I do not have any outfit that is CNY related. But this might be my last Lolita tea party in Malaysia before I fly off to Japan, so I thought I should attend and meet everyone before I leave.

Somehow, I managed to "convinced" the evil twins' sister, Noelle to join in the fun with me. And because I ran out of outfit ideas (majority of my lolita items are in darker tones), and I coincidentally bought two Angelic Pretty Cameo Window Special Set in a different colorway, I ended up just being lazy and decided on a twin coordination lol.

Our Cameo Window twin coordination for the day!

The tea party was held at Shang Palace, Shangri-la Hotel Malaysia, an extremely "atas" place for a jobless people like me. To make sure that we will go over-budget, me and Noelle already decided what to order while on our way to the venue.

CNY 2018 #ootd

Chinese new year 2018 is finally here!

Aside from collecting the red packets, another thing I very much look forward to every year, like everyone else, is SHOPPING FOR NEW CLOTHES!!!

I used to planned my outfit accordingly and make sure to get each of the items before the cny festive season begin. As I often purchase all of them from oversea, my greatest nightmare is when the package is stuck in the middle of delivery and could not reach me in time. Which there will be NO NEW CLOTHES FOR ME TO WEAR ON CNY?!

Unfortunately this year, due to financial issues, I am not buying too many items for cny. Also, I realized that I am not "young" anymore to spend so much on not-so-necessary stuff. Time to grow up and face the reality by spending on something that is more important (sad but true).
